Dead heat in Turfway Park contest splits top purse
In a rare dead heat, Thundering Tiger and Trackside tied for top spot in the TrackChampion.com April 26 horse racing contest from Turfway Park.
The feature races included Joanne Dye Stakes, Ann Owens Distaff Handicap, Dwight D. Patterson Handicap, Arizona Breeders' Derby and Sandra Hall Grand Canyon Handicap.
And it saw both horse players accumulate $72.80 in contest profit in the eHorse.com-sponsored free $500 competition.
As a result, we take the $200 first-place cash, add it to the $100 second-place cash and split the amount between the two. Third-place Larry at $68.60 earns $50 in credit at eHorse.com, while the next six finishers all claim $25. (bpiets, dragonlady, jwm20, apdave, TheBiscuit and No Blinkers round out the winners).
The event was a tuneup for next weekend's big Kentucky Derby contest where unbeaten Big Brown is projected as the morning line favorite.
